Bin Files
Page 1 of 1 • Share
I don't know if any of you people has ever tried making bin files for your map's but I give it a go any what a deal, took me awhile but I finally figured it out.So hopefully my map's from now on will have bin file's to go with them and have triggered music in them also. I know some people like music in the map's so I got that down also.

Good job, LW. If you asked me before... 'cause I knew for a long time how to make triggered areas with music and how to create and/opr edit .bin files (in fact you can see that my mod includes new .bin files that make many corrections to the localization, there were too many typos in the stock game).
In other news, I edited all of the stock TS and BHD missions, there are two unused music tracks in the Colombian campaign, now with my edits those tracks have been activated properly.

Hmm, I don't know all the precise details, all I know is that you have to change var 4 of the area trigger most of the time. Below I posted a link to a DFBarracks thread about it, very useful: http://www.dfbarracks.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=27889
There you can also find a list of the area triggers available for each soundtrack you choose in the general information -> global music variable (only available using the unlocked MED). By putting 2 in the global music variable, you choose the "Bandit's Crossing" soundtrack, for instance. If you want to use Team Sabre music, I am afraid but only way to do it is to rename the mission as a stock Team Sabre mission, and since I am editing all Team Sabre missions already, my suggestion is to avoid TS music.
Another thing; never use an area trigger for both an event and a music variable. Instead add two different area triggers, one for each.
