Pistol Sounds

Was just wondering how ya go about changing the sound of the pistols in bhdts, I'd like the colt to sound like the desert-eagle instead sounding like a lil pop-gun lol. Do you change the sound in the weapons def or what,I have the desert-eagle pistol wave.

Update-45 sound's like 50cal. now lol,but would like it to sound like desert-eagle like I say I have the desert-eagle wave file but haven't figured out how to ad it to weapon def file.Do I just ad wave file to my folder then go to weapons def and change sound send or something like that or what? New at this stuff lol.

Well, you can change some of the .wav files, the colt45 uses two wav files IIRC. However if you want it to sound like the 50cal you need to change some values/strings in the weapon.def. It's quite tricky for newcomers, I'll explain it better tomorrow.

EDIT: To add new .wav files is a real pain in the ass mate, you need to make so many things to a damned .lwf file, using a tool created by some modder long time ago. Seriously, leave that to me, 'cause if you want a Desert Eagle then I'll see to add the good one from the Insurgency mod. It won't be for now though, I'm so busy with RL.

That's np changing the sound bud simple done,I changed mine in about 5 min's.I know how to change ammo type and all that good stuff lol. I messed with the weapon def in jo-ops set me up a 45 with 50 cal sound and round and put a scope on it and set it at min zoom 2 and max 16 lol. Same way with dfbhdts.
