I don't have any NL games newer than DFBHD. I've never used NILE, so I don't know for sure if it's DFBHD friendly, but I doubt it. However, anyone I've talked to that has used NILE has made it very clear to me that they prefer the MED. I'm pretty sure some clever novaworlder even went so far as to adapt a MED that can work with JO and beyond.
I think there is a program that converts .bms files to .npj or something to that effect, but I don't know.
