I've discovered some sp maps at NovaHQ, a guy made three maps (all titled "Heavy Fire", check BHD/TS maps section) and I couldn't believe it; he managed to make custom music play in loop while all other sounds work. He creates an event for the map, "Play Dialog: " (such function is available only when using an unlocked MED); these dialogs are created through the use of .dbf files, which I have no idea how to make or if there is a tool for them. Music files have to be in .wav and listed accordingly in a .lwf file, but I have a tool for it. I'm wondering if there is a tool I might have missed about .dbf files, cause the mapmaker of these maps managed to make it.

I have seen that extension before somewhere and I never had a tool to open it. I think they are like the .SBF files you can not open them when you are a mere mortal.
I have ambient music playing in the background of our new version of the Mod. It plays and all other sounds happen as they should. The music volume is controlled by the same slider as the menu music. So no menu music no ambient music ingame.
I hope I am wrong about the .DBF file and we can open and edit it.

Ted, how did you do that? I'd like to have custom music, while other sounds such as voiceovers work as usual. Anyway I've found out that there is a way to create .dbf files using a tool for JO/DFX, it's an executable named SNDC.exe or something like that. I wish I could find it.
The music playing in the background is not intrusive or overwhelming at all.
When maps become to silent this fills that void nicely. Now that the volume can be controlled, the choice is yours whether you have ambient music or not and you set the volume level that suits you.
Blaze, I would like to tell you this is the sound fix we need but it is not. I used JO files together with some of my edited BHD files to jag this result.
I will start asking questions about that SNDC.exe and see if anyone can help.
